ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN AND TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS – GEORGIAN COLLEGE

Georgian’s leadership in co-op, student work experience and entrepreneurship education delivers powerful ways to accelerate your learning, your career and your future. With more than 125 career-focused programs across seven locations in Central Ontario – Barrie, Midland, Muskoka (Bracebridge), Orangeville, Orillia, Owen Sound and South Georgian Bay (Collingwood) – Georgian has 11,000 full-time students and 28,000 Part-time Studies registrations annually. Georgian has been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers five years in a row.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Georgian offers two full-time environmental programs at the Barrie Campus.

  • Environmental Technician: two-year diploma with one paid co-op work term
  • Environmental Technology: three-year advanced diploma with three paid co-op work terms

Industry-experienced faculty offer as many opportunities for hands-on learning as possible, including sampling and data collection in the nearby Hodge Research Area.

Students develop skills in environmental sampling, monitoring, equipment, software and data analysis. Graduates can apply the principles of ecosystem-based management to plan, implement and maintain environmental projects.

Both programs offer several articulation and transfer agreements that allow graduates to put their Georgian credits toward degrees at institutions across Canada.
