CCUEN Session
Title:  Building Linkages and Crossing Fissures Between the Geosciences and Environmental Studies/ Sciences (Drop-in Workshop)

From academic conferences to professional societies to the organization of Canadian university departments, the fields of geosciences and environmental studies/ sciences have drifted further apart over the past decade. This is despite their mutual interest in earth systems and environmental change—and the need to find collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches to work towards reconciliation, address climate change, and develop clean energy solutions. Join us for this drop-in session and workshop and share your thoughts and ideas on the challenges of collaboration and coordination between the geosciences and environmental studies/sciences in academic organizations and conferences. Is there an appetite among your peers for more cross-disciplinary engagement or is the push for greater specialization? What are some of the biggest hurdles to greater integration? What strategies have you or your academic departments utilized to strengthen relationships?  Session organized by the Canadian College and University Environmental Network.

See you in Halifax!
